August 2017 (GPP): Publication of the final Technical Report (TR) by the European Commission for EU Green Public Procurement (GPP) for furniture. The TR consists of the same criteria specified in the SWD but also provides supporting rationale and background research that justify the choice of criteria. The TR also mentions why some criteria that are potentially applicable to furniture GPP were not recommended in the end. The document is already available on the DG JRC website and shall shortly be available on the DG ENV website.

August 2017 (GPP): Publication of the Staff Working Document (SWD) by the European Commission for EU Green Public Procurement (GPP) for furniture. The SWD contains EU GPP criteria that are recommended to be applied to the procurement of not only new furniture products but also furniture refurbishment and furniture End-of-Life services. The 28 page criteria document distinguishes between core level and comprehensive level ambition levels for criteria and also between minimum technical specifications that must be complied with when specified and award criteria, which are optional but which can gain extra points for tenderers who comply with them. Further details relating to certain criteria are provided in a 14 page appendix. These criteria are published on the DG JRC website in English. Versions of the SWD in all the official languages of the European Union shall shortly be published on the DG ENV website.

January 2017 (EUEL): The Technical Report linked to the EU Ecolabel criteria for furniture has been officially published by the JRC. The TR consists of the same criteria specified in Commission Decision (EU) 2016/1332 but also provides supporting rationale and background research that justify the choice of criteria. The report is available in English on both the DG ENV website and the DG JRC website.

July 2016 (EUEL): The EU Ecolabel criteria for furniture have passed scrutiny and are now officially published in the Official Journal of the European Union as Commission Decision (EU) 2016/1332. The Decision is now available in all of the official languages of the European Union.

January 2016 (EUEL): The EU Ecolabelling Board vote positively for the proposed EU Ecolabel criteria for furniture. The legal text (Act and Annex), which essentially consists of the EU Ecolabel criteria and assessment and verification text, shall be subject to the scrutiny of the European Parliament. Subject to approval, the legal text shall be published as a Commission Decision and be translated into all of the official languages of the European Union.
