The project started in July 2026 and is expected to be completed by mid-2028. It comprises two complementary activities: the stakeholder consultation on the ESPR methodological reports and their subsequent revision, and the consolidation and publication of the methodology in a ‘roadmap’ document for the evaluation of products under the ESPR.

Stakeholder involvement is a crucial part of this project. For each methodological report, the consultation will follow the same format:
•    An online workshop, in which the JRC will present the methodology – highlighting the novelties compared to the Methodology for the Ecodesign of Energy-related Products (MEErP) – followed by time for discussion;
•    A questionnaire launched immediately after the workshop, open for written comments for around 1.5 months;
•    Analysis of the feedback received and revision of the guidance as appropriate (around 2–3 months);
•    Publication of the revised report, together with a Question & Answer document addressing main points raised by stakeholders.

The documents are open for consultation. The links to the surveys will be sent only to registered stakeholders.
