This is the project website for a study on revising EU Ecolabel criteria for "televisions". The study is carried out by the Joint Research Centre's Directorate B - Growth and Innovation(JRC). The work is being developed for the European Commission's Directorate General for the Environment.
The EU Ecolabel criteria will be based on the requirements addressed in EU Communication COM(2008) 400 "Public Procurement for a better Environment". The purpose of this project is to revise the EU Ecolabel criteria to have updated, clear and ambitious environmental criteria, based on a life-cycle approach and scientific evidence base. Several environmental, safety, technical and functional aspects will be considered.
Moreover, during the EU Ecolabel criteria revision and development continuous wide consultation is foreseen with experts and stakeholders of manufacturers, supply chain industry, consumer organizations and NGOs. The evidence base uses available scientific information and data, adopts a life-cycle approach and engages participants to discuss the issues and develop consensus.
Stakeholder involvement is a crucial part of this study. If you would like to be involved in the consultation process, you can do so through the website, by registering as a stakeholder. The registered stakeholders will be regularly informed about the progress of the study, have access to preliminary results and draft documents and can respond to questionnaires and/or participate at stakeholder meetings.
