This project will be based mainly on the requirements addressed in the Annex I of the Regulation (EC) No 66/2010 of the European Parliament and the council of 25 November 2009 on the EU Ecolabel and Communication COM(2008) 400 "Public Procurement for a better Environment". The Revision of the Ecolabel criteria is initially planned to elaborate in a common background study addressing the product group of "Furniture". However, the final decision if the current two product groups shall be addressed together in one will be made in a later phase from the EUEB Ecolabel Board together with DR ENV and the respective ad-hoc technical working group.

The following five tasks are foreseen:

Task 1: Product definition and categorization

Task 2: Economic and market analysis

Task 3: Technical analysis

Task 4: Improvement potential

Task 5: Elaboration of draft criteria and technical background reports

The duration of this project is 18 months.

Registered stakeholders will be informed about the publication of draft reports, the availability of questionnaires or upcoming meetings by email.
