EU Ecolabel for Detergents


Project plan

This project will be based mainly on the requirements addressed in the Annex I of the Regulation (EC) No 66/2010 of the European Parliament and the council of 25 November 2009.

The priority during this revision process will be to analyse which of the existing criteria and the supporting evidence base are still valid and to identify the additional research that should be carried out in order to fulfil EU Ecolabel requirements. Additional criteria may be developed, if identified as being necessary during the course of the study. The following five tasks are foreseen:

Task 1: Definition of the product group and scoping

Task 2: Market analysis

Task 3: Technical and Economic analysis based on LCA and additional scientific evidence

Task 4: Improvement potential and best available techniques

Task 5: Development of draft criteria and supporting technical background

The duration of this project is foreseen to be 18 months with two ad-hoc stakeholder working group meetings (AHWG’s) to be held during this time period. Registered stakeholders will be informed about the publication of draft reports, the availability of questionnaires and upcoming meetings by email.



During the course of the study Ad-hoc Working Group (AHWG) meetings will be organised to enable stakeholders to participate. The dates of all upcoming meetings can be found here
