Sustainable Production and Consumption (SUSPROC) is a scientific project carried out by the the Joint Research Centre's Institute for Prospective Technological Studies of the European Commission.

SUSPROC supports the implementation and further development of the EU Strategy for Sustainable Development, the EU Environmental Action Plan as well as the integration of environmental concerns in other European policy areas.

SUSPROC contributes to policy developments in these fields with techno-economic analysis of technological options and policy measures, including Environmentally Extended Input-Output analysis, cost-effectiveness and cost benefit analyses.

 

 

The mission of the JRC is to provide customer-driven scientific and technical support for the conception, development, implementation and monitoring of EU policies. As a service of the European Commission, the JRC functions as a reference centre of science and technology for the Union. Close to the policy-making process, it serves the common interest of the Member States, while being independent of special interests, whether private or national.
